Psychiatric Care Designed Around You
Every patient is different, and psychiatric care shouldn't be one-size-fits-all. Our psychiatric nurse practitioners provide comprehensive evaluation and medication management while bringing their own areas of specialized expertise. From ADHD and benzodiazepine tapering to OCD, mood disorders, and advanced treatments such as ketamine and Spravato, we focus on finding the right route forward for you.
MEDICATION MANAGEMENT
Medication management is more than simply prescribing medication.
We take the time to understand your symptoms, your history, your goals, and how treatment fits into your everyday life. Together, we’ll develop a thoughtful, individualized treatment plan and adjust it as your needs change.
Our providers offer comprehensive psychiatric medication management for children, adolescents, adults, and older adults, including evaluation, diagnosis, medication selection and adjustments, ongoing monitoring, and education. We believe treatment should never feel like a one-size-fits-all approach. Our goal is to find what works for you—with regular follow-up, honest communication, and a focus on helping you feel and function better.
Below are some of the conditions we treat.
BIPOLAR DISORDER
Bipolar disorder requires careful diagnosis and thoughtful treatment. Mood changes can be influenced by medications, sleep, anxiety, substance use, medical conditions, and other psychiatric conditions, so we take time to understand the bigger picture.
Our providers offer ongoing psychiatric evaluation and medication management for bipolar disorder, with careful attention to mood stability, medication response, side effects, sleep, and changes in symptoms over time.
We work collaboratively with you to find a treatment plan that supports stability without making you feel like you’re simply being managed by a medication list.
POST-TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER
Trauma can affect much more than memories. It can influence sleep, mood, relationships, concentration, anxiety, irritability, and how safe you feel in your own life.
We provide psychiatric evaluation and medication management for PTSD and trauma-related symptoms. Your visits may incorporate trauma-informed care, supportive therapy, CBT-based strategies, and motivational interviewing when appropriate.
We do not provide standalone trauma therapy, but we can work alongside your therapist when you are receiving specialized psychotherapy elsewhere and coordinate psychiatric treatment as part of your overall care.
We also have a strong network of trauma therapists we work closely with and are happy to refer to.
ADHD
ADHD doesn’t look the same in everyone, and getting the diagnosis right matters.
We provide comprehensive ADHD evaluation and treatment for children, adolescents, and adults. Depending on your age and clinical needs, evaluation may include a detailed psychiatric assessment along with Conners 3 CPT or QB Test computerized assessments to provide additional objective information about attention, impulsivity, and activity level.
Once we understand the full picture, we work with you to determine whether ADHD is the right diagnosis and discuss treatment options, including medication and practical strategies for managing symptoms at home, school, work, and in everyday life.
For patients who already have an ADHD diagnosis, we also provide ongoing medication management and treatment adjustments as needed.
ANXIETY
Anxiety can affect far more than how you feel. It can interfere with sleep, concentration, relationships, work, and your ability to enjoy everyday life.
We evaluate anxiety from a psychiatric perspective, including the possibility that symptoms may be related to another condition or medication. Treatment may include medication management along with brief CBT-based strategies, supportive therapy, and motivational interviewing incorporated into your psychiatric visits.
Whether you’re dealing with generalized anxiety, panic attacks, social anxiety, or another anxiety disorder, we work with you to find an approach that is realistic, sustainable, and suited to your needs.
Our goal is to empower you with the essential tools and strategies you require to regain control over your emotions, reduce anxiety symptoms significantly, and improve your overall emotional and mental well-being. We are committed to walking alongside you in your journey, providing support and guidance every step of the way, fostering a safe environment where you can flourish and thrive while navigating through the challenges of anxiety. Your path to a more fulfilled and serene life starts here, and we are excited to be part of it.
DEPRESSION
Depression isn’t always obvious. Sometimes it looks like sadness or hopelessness. Other times it feels more like exhaustion, irritability, loss of motivation, difficulty concentrating, or simply not feeling like yourself.
At The Route Clinic, we look beyond a symptom checklist to understand what you’re experiencing and what may be contributing to it. Treatment may include medication management, lifestyle recommendations, and other psychiatric treatment options based on your needs.
We also look carefully at your history of previous medications and treatments so we can make informed decisions about what to try next.
TREATMENT-RESISTANT DEPRESSION
ChatGPT said:
When depression hasn’t improved despite multiple treatments, it can be frustrating and discouraging. You don’t have to simply keep trying the same thing.
Our providers offer specialized psychiatric care for treatment-resistant depression, including a careful review of previous medications, treatment response, diagnoses, and contributing factors.
When appropriate, we may consider medication changes or augmentation as well as advanced treatments such as ketamine therapy or Spravato (esketamine). Our goal is to understand why previous approaches may not have worked and identify reasonable next steps rather than simply adding another medication to the list.
OBSESSIVE-COMPULSIVE DISORDER
OCD is more than being particular, organized, or a perfectionist. Obsessions and compulsions can become time-consuming, distressing, and disruptive to everyday life.
We provide psychiatric evaluation and treatment for OCD, including medication management and practical strategies that may be incorporated into your visits. When appropriate, our providers may use principles from CBT as part of psychiatric care, and provider a referral for a therapist that specializes in OCD.
We take time to understand the specific pattern of your obsessions and compulsions and develop a treatment plan based on your symptoms, history, and goals.
